Jodie looked at her expressionlessly and said, “It was hard enough for me to return to the academy. I’m
just paving my path. I didn’t do anything wrong.”

She went closer to Ryleigh and added, “I’m aware that people like you who are born with a silver spoon
in your mouth look down on someone like me. I just want to fit into society. What have I done wrong? But
it’s because of you and Xyla that everyone is pointing their fingers at me right now.” Ryleigh looked at
Jodie, who was gnashing her teeth in exasperation. Her face sank, and she asked, “SO you think you’re
