Chapter 398

Will I Eat You

There was dead silence in the car, and one could clearly sense that the atmosphere was completely
different from when Andrius was there just now. It made one feel like a storm was coming.

Rosalie was sitting practically ramrod straight. Her gaze was locked forward and she was trying very
hard to forget about the person beside him.

She did not know if it was her delusion, but it felt like the man’s gaze had landed on her substantively
after Andrius got out of the car, causing her to tense up subconsciously.

Suddenly, the man’s magnetic voice rang in her ear.

“Miss Jacobs, did I offend you?”

Hearing his voice all of a sudden, Rosalie let out a breath before replying in a distant manner, “why did
President Lawrence say that?”

Byron looked at her with a deep gaze and his tone was filled with displeasure, “Why are you avoiding
me like this if I haven’t?”

Hearing this, Rosalie frowned slightly, pretending to be at a loss. “Since when have I been avoiding
President Lawrence? Or to be precise, there has never been an opportunity for US to meet since our
work doesn’t overlap.”

What she was implying was that they did not have a personal relationship outside of their work
relationship.

Not only that, but their work did also not even intersect.



There was no possibility for them to meet in the first place, so it was not possible for her to be avoiding
him.

The temperature in the car plummeted sharply after she said that.

Luther who was driving the car carefully glanced at the two behind him through the rearview mirror.
Internally, he was holding his breath for Rosalie.

She already knew that his master was unhappy at this moment so why was Miss Jacobs butting heads
with him?

Just as he was worrying, he saw his master lower the partition of the back seat.

Luther silently looked away, not daring to pay attention to what was going on behind him.

When Rosalie saw the man lowering the partition all of a sudden, her heart abruptly constricted, she

Seeing her action, Byron narrowed his eyes with displeasure and asked in a cold voice, “Rosalie, since
you already said that I didn’t offend you, why are you trying to avoid me now like this? will I eat you?”

Rosalie frowned slightly. There was a faint guardedness in her eyes as she said aloofly, “I just think that
we are not too familiar with one another and your actions like this are a little sudden to me.”

Byron noted the defensiveness on her face and sarcastically replied, “What do you think I’ll do?”

Rosalie was silent. She thought of that kiss when they first met at the hotel when she returned to the
country.

It was also the only time Byron took the initiative with her ever since they met.



However, it was at a time when she no longer needed it.

The current situation was strangely similar to that of that day.

Byron looked at her with a deep gaze. There was a storm brewing in his eyes.

This woman had been avoiding him ever since they went their ways at the coffee shop the last time.
She had even gotten nanny to send Lucian and Nox to the kindergarten as well as pick them up from it.

It was until today that he had the chance to see this woman again after Andrius made up an excuse.

The entire night, however, this woman had been keeping a distance from him, she was not even willing
to say a word to him!

At first, Byron thought he could understand what she was thinking but after meeting her face to face
and seeing the woman treating him like this, he was furious.

He originally wanted to vent his frustration through drinking, but under the influence of alcohol, his
anger had grown even more.

Rosalie clearly sensed that the pressure in the car was getting stronger and stronger. Her hand that
was hanging by her side clenched unconsciously and her fingertips dug into the flesh of her palm
deeply before she barely managed to suppress the panic in her heart.
