Chapter 341
As soon as Renee entered the funeral home, Mia noticed him. Mia ran over and grabbed Renee’s
hand, anxiously sizing her up. “Mom, where did you go? Who drove you back?”
Renee looked back and saw that Fabian’s car had gone far away. She took a deep breath and said,
“I’m going for a walk. It’s too stuffy here. No one drove me back.”
Mia did not believe her.
Mia followed Renee’s gaze and did not see anyone suspicious. Noticing that her mother had returned
safely, she did not pursue the matter further. Mia led her mother inside.
On the balcony, Ethan won the first round. While waiting, he lit a cigarette and glanced at the mourning
hall out of the corner of his eye. He saw Mia come back with Renee and noticed Renee did not look
well. He pushed the bills in front of him and said, “It’s over. I have something important to do, so I will
leave you there.”
Ethan got up and hung his coat in the crook of hisani. His movements were smooth and dashing Ethan
said he would stop playing, and no one dare to ask him to stay. Ethan left, and another guest took his
place. The game continued.
Ethan did not look at Brandon but at Renee. His voice was indescribably gentle. “Renee, I’ll drive you
back.”
Renee looked around. Then, she suddenly grabbed Ethan’s sleeve and pulled him to an obscure
corner. “Ethan, you said you were my younger brother. You promised you would protect me for the rest
of your life. Does that still count?”
Ethan didn’t know what was wrong with Renee. He stared at Renee and nodded.
Renee could feel Ethan’s love for him.
Renee summoned his courage and said, “Ethan, let Rafael go. That child is only in his twenties. If he is
really imprisoned, his life will be ruined.”
Ethan pursed his lips tightly, not saying a word. His eyes swept across the entire place, but he could
not find Fabian. He asked Renee, “Fabian asked you to plead for mercy?”
Renee and Ethan weren’t close. Ever since Ethan found her, he had always been amiable. And now,
the gloomy expression on Ethan’s face still frightened Renee.
She did not dare to meet Ethan’s threatening gaze. She looked away and swallowed. “Ethan, Fabian
didn’t. I wanted to ask for your help.”
Ethan closed his eyes. Two seconds later, he slowly opened his red eyes. He grabbed Renee’s thin
shoulder and growled, “You are miserable because of Fabian. Now, you are actually pleading for his
son. Don’t you know what Rafael did to Mia? He ruined her.”
After hearing Ethan’s words, Renee became excited. She could not suppress her anger. She shouted
at Ethan, “Mia is not my daughter. I have nothing to do with that drug dealer. It was all Lorena’s doing.
She was the mastermind and gave me to the drug dealer against my will. In fact, after I gave birth to
Savanna, I got depression. At that time, the doctor told me I could not have children anymore.”
When this matter was brought up, Renee was extremely irritable, and her pupils dilated as if she

She tugged at her hair and said in a pained voice, “I don’t have a uterus anymore. Ethan, if you are my
brother, why don’t you avenge me?”
Renee’s pained voice was like a sharp blade that slashed at Ethan’s heart.
Ethan felt a dull pain in his heart. He pulled Renee into his arms and whispered in her ear, “I swear I
will avenge you, but Rafael cannot be released.”
Ethan’s refusal infuriated Renee. She raised her hand and slapped Ethan

Renee spat at Ethan.
Then, she turned around and prepared to leave. As soon as she took a step, she met Mia’s tearful

Mia’s heartached when she learned the truth.
She continued to retreat. Then she bumped into a hard chest. Mia turned around and met Brandon’s
probing eyes.
She wanted to call out to him but couldn’t do it. Now, Savanna was no longer her sister, so Brandon
was naturally not her brother-in-law.
Mia wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, turned around, and glared at Renee before running
out of the mourning hall.
Renee wanted to chase after Mia. When she met Brandon’s malicious gaze, Renee withdrew her leg.

Brandon withdrew his gaze, curled his lips, and followed Savanna back to the mourning hall.

Savanna walked to Ethan and said in a low voice, “No matter what, it is all in the past. I hope that the
old man can be at peace.”
Ethan understood Savanna.
Savanna made it clear. She hoped that Ethan would not complicate matters.
Just now, Brandon’s hostility towards Ethan had been obvious.
Everyone knew why Ethan stayed for so long, let alone the smart Brandon. He was looking for an
opportunity to attack the dead.
Ethan stared at Savanna, and the stubbornness in his eyes was finally shaken by Savanna.
Ethan got into the car and left.
When he left, he took out his phone and made a call. “All of you, leave.”
After receiving Ethan’s order, all the men around the funeral home disappeared in an instant.
Savanna witnessed the whole thing and sighed in relief. When Savanna entered the mourning hall,
Brandon was standing in front of the open coffin. His white lips were tightly pursed, and his gaze fell on
Lorena who had makeup. He was silently bidding farewell to Lorena.
The coffin was closed, and the mage could not hear it clearly.
Brandon’s vision went dark. He reached out to support himself against the wall to stabilize his swaying
body. Savanna sensed that something was wrong with his expression. She quickly ran over to support
him. “Seth, help him to the lounge.”
Brandon refused, “No need.”
He had to hold on until the moment the old lady was cremated.
The group sent the old lady’s body to the crematorium.
Soon, her body was burned to ashes and put into a small box. Brandon held the box and was about to
get into the car. His legs went limp, and he fell forward. The box fell out of his hand and made a loud
bang in the middle of the night.
“Brandon.”
“Shelton.”
Savanna and Seth rushed forward to help Brandon
Savanna did not want Renee to follow them. Savanna did not listen to her daughter’s advice and
followed them all the way to the crematorium.
Savanna and Seth helped Brandon into the car.
Jim quickly picked up the cinerary casket on the ground.
Fortunately, the box was tightly closed, and the lid did not fall from Brandon’s arms.
It was a false alarm. Jim put the casket into the truck,
Seth drove, Brandon sat in the passenger seat, and Savanna helped Renee to the back seat. Jim also
sat in the car and drove to the Young’s house.
Brandon had worked hard for a long time. He was too weak and felt dizzy. The doctor came over to
give him a check-up. When he found out Brandon was exhausted, the doctor asked Brandon to rest
and left.
Savanna helped Brandon upstairs, took off his coat, and dried his body. When Brandon fell asleep.
Savanna went downstairs. Jim and Seth went to the guest room to rest.
Savanna arranged for Renee to stay in the room next to the room where Lorena used to live.
Savanna was really too tired and yawned as she walked back to the master bedroom.
After midnight, the Young’s villa was covered in mist, and soon, it began to rain.
In the morning, Seth hurried upstairs and knocked on the door of the master bedroom.
Savanna rubbed his sleepy eyes, his voice hoarse. “What’s the matter?”
“Mrs. Cassel, Mrs. Young’s ashes are gone.”
