Chapter 7: The Truth

Witnessing the painful scene, the crowd couldn't bear to watch it anymore and quickly
dispersed.Caroline didn't even know how she finally left the entrance of the villa with her unconscious
sister.

All she knew was that, when she woke up the following day, someone told her to take a last look at
Charlene so they could send her to the crematorium.

Under the list in the ICU ward, Charlene's eyes were tightly closed.

Her cheeks were pale and ashen, and she was silent as if she was sleeping.

She was so cheerful the other day Caroline saw her.

But in just a moment of time, after Caroline left to look out for money to pay off her sister's bills,
Charlene suddenly passed away in an instant.

Caroline's hand trembled as she stroked Charlene's cheek for the last time.

Her tears were crackling down her cheeks.

"Charlene, I'm sorry.I didn't take good care of you.Mom and Dad, I'm sorry, I didn’t take good care of
my sister!"

That day, Charlene was cremated.

When Caroline left the crematorium, she had a blue and white porcelain jar in her hand.

Her sister's ashes were there.

The expression on Caroline's face was blank and hollow.



While walking, she came across a bump under her feet that almost made her fall.

Caroline hurriedly hugged the jar tightly to keep it safe and looked at the sky outside.She didn't have
anything left in her life.She closed her eyes.

Suddenly, a conversation between two girls could be heard not far away.

Caroline's guilt and hatred suddenly replaced her blank expression.

"Riane is so beautiful and lucky.I heard that the Stanley family gave her a luxury car just after she
married the family’s young master!"

"Young Master Stanley really loves her.I heard that they knew each other several years ago!"

"How envious!"

Caroline slowly turned around with her empty-looking eyes.

She couldn't believe what she just heard but what was even funnier was that she used to like Aldrich
the time when they were together.

Caroline shook her head in disbelief as her mind slowly regained consciousness.

‘Aldrich, Riane.It was them who sent Charlene such a message! They murdered my sister! An intense
hatred burst out from Caroline's eyes.

She carried Charlene's ashes and rushed to the police station without wasting her time.

"I want to report.Aldrich and Riane killed my sister!"

Caroline said with a heavy feeling in her heart.



She even took out Charlene's phone and continued, "They sent this message to my sister.Because of
that, she died on her way to Stanley's villa!"

The policeman took it and looked at the photo.

At this moment, Caroline could no longer care if someone would know that she used to be sleeping
with the young master of Stanley's family.

She only wanted justice for her sister, and the two of them, Aldrich and Riane, must pay.

"Miss, do you have any other evidence that the two of them killed your sister?" the policeman asked,
but the tone of his voice seemed like he wasn't convinced by the text message he saw.

Caroline shook her head, "Nothing else.But that's the only reason why my sister went outside the
hospital.My sister is seriously ill, so she can't leave, let alone and get caught in the rain!"

"Young miss, I'm really sorry.But this isn't enough evidence"

The policeman apologetically said, "If you have any other evidence, you can report it again.Of course,
you can also ask a lawyer to help you with the lawsuit.However, the current evidence is not enough for
the case to be closed."

No matter how hard Caroline convinced, the policeman had the same opinion and defense.

She had no choice but to leave in a daze and arrive at the Stanley family villa to find out the truth.

As Aldrich was about to take Riane home, he suddenly saw Caroline sitting on the side of the road.

He frowned and even stopped the car that made the girl beside her furrow her eyebrows in confusion.

"What?" The girl looked around until her gaze landed on Caroline's.



Just as Aldrich was about to get out of the car, Riane opened her mouth and said, "Aldrich, I'll go down
and talk to her.You must stay here and wait for me, okay?"

"Alright."

Every time that Riane would come across her adoptive sister, her blood would always boil in hatred.

Once she finally got out of the car and faced her sister, she couldn't help but smirk at Caroline's
hopeless state.

Seeing Riane approaching, Caroline's eyes widened and immediately stepped forward.She was about
to slap the woman, but Riane seemed to have been prepared for it.She quickly dodged it at ease and
asked her coldly, "What, your sister died without money to be buried?"

"You!" Caroline's eyes were filled with hatred.

"Riane, I'm going to kill you!"

"Oh, I'm so scared!" Riane sneered.

"Oh right, there's another secret I haven't told you!"

After saying that, she leaned closer to Caroline and lowered her voice, "Your sister didn't die in the
rain.She at least enjoyed being a woman for once before her end.It was my people who provided her
with pleasure and benefits.How about that? She didn't live for 20 years in vain.She went on the road to
hell, so she should be thanking me for letting her experience that pleasure before she died, right?"
