Chapter 18: Leave in Two Months

"Then what is the result that you are expecting?" The man asked normally.

"Actually, I am already expecting this outcome even before, but I'm still a little unhappy.However, it
doesn't matter.The days are still long.Who knows what will happen in the future?" Caroline sighed.

The man was silent.

He walked to the bedside and looked at the thick curtains.

"They are already convicted and I already did my part as what I have promised to you back then." He
said in a calm way.

Caroline stopped breathing and even though she already had an idea, she still asked "Sir, what do you
mean?"

"The child can be weaned in two months, right?"

The man continued, "After half a year old, breast milk is not necessary at all, so you only need to
breastfeed him for another two months."

"Sir--"

Caroline's eyes turned red.She wanted to cry.She knew that this day would come sooner or later.

The day when she signed the agreement, she knew she was already doomed.

She had a child but she was not allowed to accompany her son for the rest of her life.

However, she was still hoping that the man would change his mind and would let her raise their baby
together.But now, it was obvious that she had failed.



"I will arrange a good job for you, but in two months-"

Suddenly, the man was cut-off by his own words.Then, Caroline heard a sound of something heavy
landing on the ground.She hurriedly turned around and was shocked.

Though it was dark inside, she was already used to the darkness and was able to move exactly where
the man was.

"Sir, what's wrong with you?"

Her voice was trembling and she was feeling nervous without noticing it.The man seemed to be woken
up by her words, so he reacted.

He reached out and grabbed her arm, "Don't turn on the light, call the doctor”

"Alright, I'll go find a doctor immediately."

As soon as Caroline finished talking, she turned around and strode out.

Outside, Marisa saw her nervous expression and couldn't help but asked, "Miss, what's wrong?"

"Sir has fainted" Caroline said.

At this moment, the baby in the nursery also cried.

"The baby may be hungry.You can go and check for your son, miss.I'll be the one to call the doctor"
Marisa said.

Caroline nodded and went to carry the baby.

The little one seemed to have smelled his mother's scent.



Although his eyes was still closed, when Caroline picked him up, he stopped crying right away.

Caroline put him in her arms and spoke softly, "Baby, are you hungry? Mommy will feed you now,
okay?"

After saying that, she lifted the hem of her top.

The baby was cheerful as he drank his milk.

On the other hand, Marisa had already called the doctor.

After that, she went to the man's room to check on his condition.

The man was still lying on the carpet.

Fortunately, the house was warm even though it was winter, so it would not cause him to catch a cold.

Not long after, the doctor arrived. At this time, Caroline had already finished breastfeeding and was
anxiously waiting in the room with her baby in her arms.

"Miss, you and the baby should go out first.I'll check the situation for you." The doctor said calmly.

Caroline nodded but before she turned around and left the room, she asked, "He suddenly fainted.Is it
very serious?"

"He's fine." The doctor only said this before closing the door.

Caroline had no choice.

Although they had been sleeping together for more than a year, she still didn't have an idea of the
man's name, appearance, or identity.She sighed and carried the baby to the nursery.She put the baby



on the carpet and played with him.

The baby loved to laugh, just like what Caroline said to Charlene.He smiled and widened his eyes
when she teased him casually.

Suddenly, Caroline thought of what the man had said, that she would have to leave in two months.

As she was thinking about it, she felt as if her heart had been torn apart.
