Later on, Molly and Lesley discussed the details of the plan again with Vaughn.
By the time they were done, it was already more than two hours later.
When they came out, Lesley grabbed Molly and asked, "Are the people of the Shepard family worth
trusting?"
Molly knew what Lesley was worried about.
However, out of instinct, she still tried to coax Lesley. "Don't worry. I feel that Selon and Vaughn are
worth trusting. If you still have any doubts, you can ask Mr. Ballard about his opinion."
Lesley thought about it and agreed. She then quickly went to make a call.
Molly looked at Lesley’s receding figure, curved her lips and walked out of the room.
Vaughn returned to where he was and was drinking coffee.
Molly sat opposite him and just stared at him.
Vaughn cocked his brows and asked with a smile, "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Molly replied with a smile, "Nothing. I just feel that you're so capable. You were able to find out the
population of the island and the number of people in the research base within such a short amount of
time."Vaughn smiled. "This is all because of the elders of the Shepard family. They have a lot of connections
with people here. Therefore, they were able to find out some basic information easily."
Molly felt that there was nothing wrong with Vaughn's explanation. She then suddenly asked, "Then
how did you know about the Ballard family? If I remember correctly, I've never mentioned to you that
Lesley's fiance was from the Ballard family. Neither have I said anything about the Ballard family."
Vaughn remained calm. "Is there a possibility that I've heard about such things from Lesley? After all,
she's even willing to give me the keys to her store."
"No way!" Molly didn't believe that at all. "She would keep her guard up when faced with anyone. She
even suspected me in the past. The reason that she gave you the keys was because she cared about
me!"
Vaughn nodded and continued to smile. "You're right. She does care about you quite a lot."
Molly didn't know what to say.
What he said wasn't the point that she wanted to get across.
She couldn't believe that this man was still keeping secrets from her at such a time.
"Alright then. If you're not going to tell me the truth, then I'll just play dumb as well!’ Molly exclaimed
inwardly.
Molly squinted her eyes and snorted. "Vaughn, you care about me as well. You even care more about
me than my husband... If this carries on, then I might fall in love with you. It
Vaughn cocked his brows. "What? I don’t think that's right, do you? You have a family and kids."Molly ignored his words and smiled. "So what? They're not by our sides right now, are they? Having an
affair sounds good to me, don't you think? Or do you think I'm not worthy of you, Vaughn?"
With that said, Molly even reached out to hold Vaughn's hand.
Vaughn lowered his eyes and looked at Molly's hand meaningfully. "I didn't expect you to be someone
to make the first move."
"Well, now you see, right?" Molly smiled coquettishly and asked, "Do you agree, Vaughn?"
Vaughn's eyes darkened. He wanted to say something when Lesley finished her call and walked over.
"Molly, Uncle Jordan said..."
Before she could finish, she saw Molly and Vaughn holding hands.
She was stunned and looked at the two of them with eyes full of shock. "You... what are you doing?"
Molly smiled. "Nothing. There was something on Vaughn's
hand, and I was just removing it for him."
"I see." Lesley patted herself on the chest and said, "You scared me. I thought you were going to cheat
on your husband."
Molly smiled, but didn’t give an answer. She just asked," How did it go? Are you going to agree to our
plan?"
Lesley nodded. "I agree."
