Tara answered the phone. On the other end, Melanie asked the usual question. “Tara, how has your
progress with Odell in the past few days been like?”

The corners of Tara’s mouth curled up and said, “Odell has agreed to marry me. We’re getting engaged
on the 28th of this month.”

“Really?!” Melanie raised her voice in excitement.

“Of course. The venue has already been set, and the ring has been chosen.” It was a six-carat
diamond ring. Melanie asked happily, “Where’s the venue?”

“Westchester Hotel.”

“So… May I go?” Melanie asked.

Tara frowned.

She did not want Melanie to come to Westchester City, and she especially did not want her to appear in
front of Odell’s eyes.

However, she liad been introduced to Odell as her aunt before. He had even mentioned her that day
and asked her to invite Melanie over.

Tara pondered for a few seconds before replying, “Sure, but you’ll have to leave the same day.”

She could not let her mother stay. It would be bad if Odell noticed something.



Melanie quickly responded, “Yes, I know.” She had never been to Westchester Hotel before in her
entire life. Furthermore, this time, she would be going to the engagement party between her daughter
and the master of the most powerful family in Westchester City. Her old friends would surely die of
jealousy just from looking at the pictures!

The news that Odell would be getting engaged to Tara had spread all over.
